St. Stephen’s Episcopal Day School is an independent elementary school serving students in preschool through Grade 5. We have just over 300 students, and our 1:1 iPad program starts in Grade 1. We also use iPad devices in small groups with preschool, and our faculty uses MacBooks. We view devices as tools to enhance the learning experience.
Technology has disrupted education, providing unprecedented opportunities for students to become producers rather than consumers. Our school has embraced this shift, and our students are engaged because they have voice and choice in the classroom. We promote a growth mindset, valuing each child's unique genius.
With ever-changing tools available for teaching, we are reflective practitioners that start with the "why". Student passions are integrated into the curriculum, focusing on developing research and questioning techniques.
